About
Who
Who’s behind the BassParade? Mostly Jay Kumar.
You may recognize the name, maybe not. Either way is cool. Jay’s done a few things in bassin’ – created BassFan.com and BassGold.com, co-host of the old ESPN show Loudmouth Bass with the Z-Train, former Bassmaster senior writer – those kinds of things.
In 2007 he sold the Bassin’Fan and was locked out of the sport until 2010. Then one day in the summer of that year, he was just minding his own bidness when he heard that BASS was being sold and Wal-Mart had jumped on board big with FLW Outdoors. The last time those things happened he started BassFan, so he figured, hey, might as well start another bass fishing website…
…key question being does the world need another bassin’ site? Heck no. Does it need a sense of humor and inside perspective only Jay can muster up? Dang straight. So BassParade is Jay’s no-holds-barred bassin’ blog, with some other folks contributing from time to time. But don’t forget, he’s also movin’ the digital needle (big time) with BassGold. Check it out if you haven’t already. It’s the ultimate patterning tool.
Along with being a bassin’-head, Jay is a diehard upland bird hunter and is one of the guys behind SeriousBirdHunting.com. His kids call him…dad. His wife calls him when she needs something done.
What
What’s the Bass Parade? Picture you and some buds sitting on some bleachers, watching the whole crazy bass fishing scene parade past you. The news guys are in the press box, typing everything they see and hear. The complainers are in diapers, crying over the shoulders of their mamas. Lots of people are drinking Kool-Aid….
You and your buds are just checking out the scene, throwing out a few choice comments, having fun. Maybe eating a few nachos. You know, the kind with the canned cheese and extra jalapenos.
That’s the Bass Parade.
If you don’t like it, we’ll have to introduce you to our friend Clyde. (Kids, don’t watch from 1:31-1:33 but the audio is okay – mostly.)
That reminds us: Don’t bother us when we’re fishin’:
The name “Bass Parade” reminds us (or Jay, at least) of this tune:
We hope you enjoy the Bass Parade. That’s the only reason we’re doing it: FUN!
Does anybody remember laughter? (That’s a Led Zep reference, for you young’uns.)
